HIP + GROIN PAIN

Adductor Pain 

adductor related pain or more commonly known has groin pain can be caused by an acute tear, tendon overload. Patients may experience pain when walking, kicking, getting in/out of the car as well as morning pain/stiffness.

Manual therapy, exercise and load monitoring and pressings all form part of a structured rehab program to get you back on track.

Hip OA 

OA is a condition where the carinate in the hip gets "wear and tear" over time. This can lead to pain, stiffness which impacts on movement and function. 

​

Physio can help with education, manual therapy and the gold standard for treatment of OA is a structured exercise program. 

Many patients are able to return to their previous or desired level of function.

Lateral Hip Pain 

Greater trochanteric Pain Syndrome (GTPS) is very common in females, often 35 + years. Symptoms include pain when sitting with legs crossed, pain laying on your side at night, pain going up/down stairs and pain with walking/running. This pain is usually a combination of tendinopathy and bursitis.

Activity modification (but this doesn't mean stopping everything altogether), strength, core and hip control and gradual return to activity with form the rehab plan.

Hip Flexor Injury 

The hip flexors are a group of muscles at the front of the hip. They help to flex the hip during movements of kicking and sprinting. 

​

Early identification of which structure is causing pain and weakness. Physio will help to restore flexibility, strength and control to help you back to pain free activity.
